Seasonal Machine Operator

Yakima, WA

Our Yakima production plant in Washington is hiring seasonal employees to work from July through November, with continuing work available through March. Starting pay is based on position and overtime is available after 40 hours. Hours can vary from 7.5 to 12 hours per shift; 5-6 days a week.


We have a variety of positions available in Machine Operator areas on both our day and night shifts:


Label Line Machine Operator
  • Checks and loads label bundles into the machine
  • Ensures the labels used are appropriate for the product running and refills glue barrel
  • Completes all required in-process checks and associated documentation
Palletizer Operator
  • Places cardboard dividers between each new layer of cans
  • Tracks can time/record results
  • Completes all required in-process checks and associated documentation
Slurry Operator
  • Properly monitor system by reading and following instructions
  • Take brix reading every ½ hour, run CIP systems and effective sanitation (notify supervisor)
Seamer Operator
  • Monitors all aspects of the seamer as specified by a supervisor
  • Monitors Syrup level in bowl and level in cans
  • Watch cooker for stoppages
  • Clean machine at lunch time
Automatic Peeler Operator
  • Watch Pear Peeler Machine that whole pears enter the machine correctly
  • The Attendant watches to ensure each cup has a pear in every cycle of the machine
Filler Operator
  • Operates fillers to accurately can pears
  • Observes operation of equipment and performs necessary adjustments to ensure product specifications are met
  • Communicates any changes in product flow, quality, equipment malfunctions, or deviations from specifications to supervisor, co-workers, and fill weight controller
  • Monitors product integrity, assures package weight and proper fill requirements are met
Depalletizer Operator
  • Remove fasteners off pallet of cans (i.e, plastic wrap, plastic straps, picture frames)
  • Move hydraulic lever to roll full pallet into the depalletizer
  • Raise pallet so top layer of cans are level with the flat top cans are level with conveyor
  • Remove divider sheet and stack in designated area
  • Use the rolling sweep move cans from pallet to conveyor
Distribution Operator
  • Responsible for keeping all conveyor belts feeding peeler lines
  • Need to maintain an even flow
  • Responsible for stopping belts or redirecting product to all operational lines
  • Communicate any changes in production flow, quality, equipment malfunctions, or deviations from specifications to Prep Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, or peeler mechanics

Qualifications
  • Qualified Applicants must have at a minimum, one-year comparable work experience in a Warehouse, Labeling, Packaging, Distribution Center environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions is essential to this role.
