Receiving Crewleader

Plover, WI - $28.70-$31.70 / Hr

The Maintenance person in this position serves also as a Crew leader for the production area they are in during the Production Season. This position is responsible to safely maintain, adjust, and operate various pieces of production equipment for Green-bean/Root Crop Receiving. Trouble-shooting and repairing equipment failures, training, and overseeing employees in order to ensure production, quality, and safety goals are met. This position also assists in developing procedures in support of training and production operations. Further, this position works with other plant personnel in a team environment and complies with company policy, regulatory and company standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely perform a variety of skilled maintenance work and troubleshooting to maintain upkeep on the various pieces of production and labeling equipment.
  • Monitor production flow and equipment operation to maintain production goals.
  • Direct, train, and lead employees; including seasonal employees during the production season.
  • Operate various pieces of production and labeling equipment.
  • Perform other assigned duties requested by the supervisor.
  • Maintain housekeeping on a continuous basis within the department.
  • Assist with job placement of employees.
  • Perform administration duties.
  • Capable of working with a wide variety of tools.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude.
  • Machinist skills or training are advantageous.
  • Welding and torch cutting experience.
  • Basic knowledge of electricity, hydraulics and steam.
  • Oral and written communication skills should be at minimum a high school level.
  • Basic math and computer concept skills.
  • Ability to read and give instructions on the proper use of a micrometer.

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years’ preferred
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers while giving and receiving information
  • Perform other assigned duties requested by supervisor
  • Maintain and repair all seamers, fillers, slicers, seed reels, add water system and all associated conveyors and can tracks
  • Train and lead the seasonal crew in the canning room during pack, ensure compliance with product certification specifications and requirements, and generally direct canning room production
  • Adjust the product flow as required
  • Potential for irregular work schedules/overtime due to fluctuating production needs
  • Capable of occasionally lifting and carrying various items that may weigh up to 75lbs
  • Capability of working on machinery in a variety of adverse positions including crawling, squatting, kneeling, etc.
  • Must provide own tool set to perform assigned duties
